After 13 years serving as a member of the Board of Directors at Vietcap Securities, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Bao has just submitted his resignation.
Vietcap Securities Joint Stock Company (Code VCI) recently said that Mr. Nguyen Hoang Bao would like to resign from his position as Member of the Board of Directors (BOD) due to personal reasons.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Bao (Henry Nguyen) is known as the husband of Ms. Nguyen Thanh Phuong – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietcap.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Bao’s resignation from the Board of Directors will be submitted to the nearest General Meeting of Shareholders for consideration by Vietcap.
Vietcap was established in 2007, formerly known as Viet Capital Securities Joint Stock Company. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Bao has held the position of Member of the Board of Directors since 2011, up to now 13 years.
As recorded in Vietcap’s 2023 management report, Mr. Hoang Bao does not own any shares of Vietcap. Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Phuong owns more than 17.5 million shares, equivalent to 4.01% of capital.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Bao was born in 1973, graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Harvard University, a Doctor of Medicine from Northwestern University and a Master of Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management – USA
According to Vietcap’s introduction, Mr. Hoang Bao is currently the Chairman of Phoenix Holdings, a company specializing in investing in companies in the fields of technology, consumer/retail, financial technology, education, and sports. , media and entertainment.
Previously, Mr. Hoang Bao was General Director of IDG Ventures Vietnam – an investment fund specializing in companies in the fields of consumption, technology, media and telecommunications in Vietnam.
In addition to these two roles, he is also the Director of Franchise Development for McDonald’s Corporation in Vietnam as well as the Executive Chairman of Timo Digital Bank.
In the field of education, he is a founding board member of the British University Vietnam. He is also a Member of the Board of Trust of Fulbright University Vietnam.
