This decision is based on the report of the Central Inspection Commission and the proposal of the Central Organizing Committee, as well as the resignation applications of Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh and Mr. Chau Van Lam from their assigned positions.
According to the Party Central Committee, Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment (former Secretary of Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee) and Mr. Chau Van Lam, Secretary of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee, violated Party regulations in performing assigned duties and tasks, violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do, the responsibility to set an example, and regulations on preventing and combating corruption and negativity.
After the Central Committee dismissed two members, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh issued a decision to assign Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, to run the Ministry’s operations until the competent authority completes the Minister position according to regulations.
In Tuyen Quang, on August 10, at the Provincial Party Standing Committee meeting, Ms. Le Thi Kim Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council, was also assigned to run the work of the Provincial Party Committee.
Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh was born in 1976, from Ha Tinh province. In July 2019, he held the position of Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee and nearly 4 years later, in May 2023, Mr. Khanh was approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.
Mr. Chau Van Lam was born in 1967, his hometown is Tuyen Quang. In March 2015, Mr. Lam was elected Secretary of Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee and has held this position since then.
