Motorcyclists die after accident en route to the Atlantic

Two people died as a result of a car accident which was recorded in the early hours of this Thursday, February 22 at kilometer 21 of the route to the Atlantic. Volunteer Firefighters responded to the emergency.

According to Víctor Gómez, spokesperson for the institution, calls from passersby came to the emergency telephone line to notify about an accident involving people on board a motorcycle.

The units were immediately mobilized to that place, where emergency medical technicians located those affected on the asphalt strip and in an unconscious state.

“When evaluating the patients, it was found that they lacked vital signs as a result of multiple trauma, for which the corresponding authorities were notified,” the spokesperson said.

Motorcyclists killed in accident identified

The delegate of the relief corps indicated that the relatives of the fatal victims appeared in the area where this unfortunate incident occurred and identified them as Mario Boror, 51 years old; and Mario Joel Boror Rodríguez, 17 years old.

The agents of the National Civil Police and prosecutors from the Public Ministry partially closed the area to be able to carry out the corresponding procedures and coordinate the transfer of the bodies to the morgue of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to data from institutions in charge of traffic monitoring, during 2024 there have been 772 road accidents in which 212 people have died and others have been injured.
