A 43-year-old motorcyclist died after being attacked by a swarm of bees while on a trail in the rural area of Poços de Caldas, in southern Minas, on Saturday afternoon (30). Wanderson Silva Muniz had a cardiopulmonary arrest and was unable to resist.
For the accident which occurred in via Athila Cagnani, the firefighters were called around 2pm. According to other bikers, Wanderson was attacked by a swarm of bees and ended up in the forest, getting lost from the group.
The soldiers traveled to the site using cars, motorbikes and finally finished the journey on foot. The victim was found in cardiopulmonary arrest. Firefighters had to wear beekeeping clothing to protect themselves from bees during resuscitation efforts.
Despite treatment, the motorcyclist died at the scene. Wanderson Silva Muniz was buried this Sunday morning (31) in Campestre, a town 42 kilometers from Poços de Caldas.
