The seventh round of the Madagascar Motocross Championship, the Ilakaka Grand Prix, promises to be tough, with the introduction of transponders, this Sunday, June 23.

Off-road Motocross enthusiasts in Madagascar are on alert for the next crucial stage of the national championship, the Ilakaka Grand Prix. Scheduled for Sunday, June 23, this event will take place at the Ilakaka Circuit, marking the third time the competition has moved away from the city center to provide a unique challenge for drivers and a captivating spectacle for spectators. This seventh round of the championship promises to be particularly intense, with the fierce duel between the current leaders, Mathias Plantive and Claudio Tida. Both have dominated the season so far, earning three wins each. Mathias Plantive shone during the MX IMC events in Ambohidava, the Race Day in Antsirabe and the MX Kawasaki Grand Prix in Ambohidava, while Claudio Tida distinguished himself during the 100% MX Grand Prix in Ambohidava, the 501 Grand Prix in Toamasina and the MX Manakara. In the provisional ranking, Mathias Plantive maintains a slim lead with 161 points, closely followed by Claudio Tida with 136 points. Randy Rakotoarimanana completes the podium with 92 points, promising fierce competition in the Elite 1 category. For this edition of the Ilakaka Grand Prix, Claudio Tida, winner of the previous edition and leader of the out-of-town races this season, is clearly designated favorite.

Innovation

In anticipation of this prestigious event, the Malagasy Motorcycling Federation (FMaM) recently introduced state-of-the-art transponders. This new technology aims to modernize the management of Motocross and Endurance races in Madagascar, providing an improved experience for participants. On June 8, 28 registered riders had the opportunity to test this revolutionary system on the 100% MX circuit in Ambohidava. These tests helped familiarize pilots with new technologies while ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data for future events. Mathias Plantive, one of the drivers who took part in the test, showed an impressive performance with a time of 11:32.614 for five laps, setting a best time of 1:55.559.
