Shocking is the case of a mother in the US who paid a man $2,500 to rape and abuse her 5-year-old daughter before murdering her in an abandoned house.
Four death sentences were handed down to 39-year-old Jeremy Williams, who showed no remorse when his sentence was announced.
The story of Campari Holland
In December 2021, he abducted the toddler, Campari Holland, from her home in Columbus, Georgia, before raping and strangling her to death. The mother of the little girl claimed to the Police that she woke up at 5:50 in the morning of December 13th and Kampari was missing.
But she pleaded guilty last month to a charge of sex trafficking and faces up to 20 years in prison after allowing Williams to rape her own daughter, according to the Daily Mail.
“If anyone deserves the death penalty, it’s Jeremy Williams,” Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor told reporters. “It’s another type of evil that we don’t need in society,” he added.
The little girl’s body was found late that night in the basement of an abandoned house Williams once lived in, just across the Alabama state line in Phenix City.
The testimonies are shocking
During the trial in Russell County Circuit Court, some jurors broke down in tears as they were shown video of the rape and footage from the body camera of the officers who found her body.
Witnesses came forward to convict the serial child abuser, who was already suspected of murdering a one-year-old boy in Alabama and had been acquitted of throwing a three-year-old boy into a tub of boiling water in 2009. The former Williams’ wife called him “soulless”, telling him: “You don’t deserve my tears anymore”, and a 23-year-old woman who was just four years old when Williams was abused called him a “monster”. “I feel so much I don’t know how to describe it,” she said.
“You don’t deserve to live,” Campari’s father, Corey Holland, told the little girl’s killer. “We no longer have the little girl by our side and you don’t deserve to see your children or life.” He also read from a letter written by Kbari’s 13-year-old sister which said: “I don’t understand why anyone would hurt her – she was so sweet and loving.”
Williams was also sentenced to life in prison for producing pornography and human trafficking, 20 years for conspiracy to commit human trafficking and 10 years for abuse of a corpse.
Jury foreman Stacey Mott also returned for sentencing after returning the guilty verdict: “It was a very difficult case to endure and I’m sure you saw all the emotions on our faces,” she told reporters and continued: “On behalf of all the jurors involved, we are proud of the young victims and witnesses who dared to tell their difficult truth, because we know it was excruciatingly painful. By coming forward, they all gave voice to little Kamari. No child should have to endure what happened to her,” she concluded.
