Moscow attack: The 29 victims identified so far

Russian authorities have so far identified 29 people among the 143 killed in Friday night’s terror attack at a concert venue near Moscow, the Emergencies Ministry said.

The ministry released a list of the first 29 names, showing the difficulty of identifying the victims as rescuers continue to dismantle Crocus City Hall, which was destroyed by fire.

Civil protection services are unable or unwilling to transport heavy machinery to the scene of the tragedy, and most of the work is done manually.

The pictured Ekaterina Novoselova was identified as one of the victims of the attack.

Who are some of the first victims of the attack?

Ekaterina Novoselova, 42, was listed by the Russian Health Ministry as dead from the Crocus City Hall attack. She had won beauty pageants in 2001 in her hometown of Tver and had reportedly recently moved to Moscow. She was a mother of two children.
