“Mosaic Stories” micro -stretch contest of Memorial Paine

The Paine Memorial Corporation begins the call for the 8th edition of the “Mosaic of Stories” micro -stroll contest, a literary and open memory initiative to the participation of people of all ages and places in the world, regardless of their nationalities.
The contest invites writing a short, unpublished and original story, with a maximum of 250 words (including the title), inspired by life that reflect the mosaics of each of the 70s missing and political executed by Paine, which are remembered in Memorial Paine, who were victims of state terrorism after the military civil coup of 1973.
This contest not only proposes to rescue and make visible individual memories, but also promote collective reflection on the importance of preserving memories. Literary creation has been a valuable instrument of activation and relevant of collective memories, not only of Paine, but also a powerful exercise of defense of truth and justice.
During seven editions, this contest has gathered hundreds of stories that, mosaic to mosaic, have contributed to the recognition and dignification of those who were taken from their lives and communities. Each work received has been a gesture of love and resistance, and a literary testimony of Paine’s memory.
The jury will reward a winning story and honorable mentions will be granted in the following categories:
• Child and youth talent (under 18)
• Greater talent (over 60 years)
• wrestling wrestling
This 8th edition has the valuable sponsorship and collaboration of La Voz de Paine, Paine Cultural Center, Le Monde Diplomatique, Cultural Corporation Pueblito de Champa, Museum Museum Foundation, and the Institute of Agricultural Development (INDAP), institutions committed to memory, culture and local identity.
The call is made: to dress in courage and contribute, word by word, to the collective network of memory.
