Moroccan international Ibrahim Diaz, the Spanish Real Madrid football player, thanked the Moroccan fans for their support and assistance, following the great victory over Congo Brazzaville with a clean six-point score, on Tuesday evening, in the fourth round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup finals.
Diaz said in a tweet via the “Al-Stori” feature on his personal account on the social networking site “Instagram”: “We end the season with a great victory, which brings us closer to our goal.”
He added: “Many thanks to our fans for their unconditional support, Dima Maghreb,” referring to the Moroccan fans who made a pilgrimage to the “Adrar” stadium to support the “Atlas Lions” in the matches against Zambia and Congo-Brazzaville.
Diaz started the match against Congo, before leaving the field in the 75th minute, leaving his place to his colleague Bilal Al-Khanous. The Real Madrid star left to the applause of the audience who was present in the stands.
It is worth noting that the Moroccan team continued to lead Group E with 9 points, while the Congo-Brazzaville team remained devoid of points.
