The Moroccan national football team advanced one place in the classification issued by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), today, Thursday, as it became ranked 12th, shared with the Colombian national team, instead of the 13th place it occupied in the last classification issued last April.
The Atlas Lions team gained 8 points to add to its tally, as it now has 1,669 points instead of 1,661, after achieving two consecutive victories in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers at the expense of Zambia and Congo Brazzaville last June.
The Moroccan football team maintained its lead in the rankings of African and Arab teams, while the Senegalese team maintained second place continentally and fell internationally to rank 18 instead of 17, while the Egyptian team came third (36 globally) and the Ivorian team fourth (37 globally), while the Nigerian team fell. To fifth place on the African continent (38 globally).
In the Arab world, the Moroccan national team leads the rankings, followed by the teams of Qatar (35 globally), Egypt (36 globally), Tunisia (41 globally), Algeria (44 globally), then Iraq in fifth place in the Arab world (55 globally).
The Argentine national team, the world champion in the last edition, tops the rankings with 1,860 points, followed by the French national team, then the Belgian national team and the Brazilian national team, while the English national team ranked fifth.
