Today, Thursday in Beijing, during the tenth session of the ministerial meeting of the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum, Arab and Chinese foreign ministers praised Moroccan initiatives at the international level.
In the “Beijing Declaration” and the “Executive Program 2024-2026”, issued by the tenth session of the ministerial meeting of the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum, the two sides stressed the importance of the Libyan political agreement signed in the city of Skhirat in 2015, and the Constitutional Declaration and its amendments.
In this context, the Arab and Chinese foreign ministers stressed the necessity of adhering to the unity and sovereignty of the State of Libya, the integrity of its territories, rejecting interference in its internal affairs, and the principle of Libyan ownership of the political process.
On the other hand, the Arab and Chinese foreign ministers welcomed the election of the Kingdom of Morocco to the presidency of the United Nations Human Rights Council in 2024, as the first Arab country to hold this important position. They also referred to the “Rabat Declaration”, issued by the High-Level Ministerial Conference on Middle-Income Countries, which It was held in Rabat on February 5 and 6, 2024, and called for a qualitative shift in international cooperation on development for the benefit of middle-income countries and for enhancing the participation of these countries in global governance.
The Arab and Chinese foreign ministers also praised the positive outcome of the presidency of the Moroccan Ministry for Energy Transition and Sustainable Development for the sixth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-6) for the period 2022-2024.
The two sides welcomed the appointment of the Kingdom of Morocco as a facilitator for the international negotiation series related to the political declaration of the World Social Summit, scheduled to be held in 2025, stressing in this context the importance of cooperation in the fields of health care and social affairs, and reducing poverty in its various dimensions, including family and childhood care, and the empowerment of women. , youth development, and promoting the rights of persons with disabilities, through the exchange of experiences.
The Tenth Ministerial Forum of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum welcomed the accession of the State of the Comoros to the World Trade Organization, appreciating the hard work that has been done to achieve this achievement by the working group concerned with this accession, headed by the Kingdom of Morocco.
In this regard, the efforts made to enhance coordination and cooperation between the two sides in the International Monetary Fund, the G20, and other international economic and financial organizations and mechanisms, and to increase the voices and representation of developing countries, were praised.
China and the Arab countries also welcomed the Kingdom of Morocco’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup in 2030, alongside Spain and Portugal.
The tenth session of the ministerial meeting of the China-Arab Cooperation Forum opened today, Thursday, in Beijing, with the participation of Morocco, represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita.
This meeting, which marks the twentieth anniversary of the founding of the forum, represents an important stage in bilateral cooperation, as the two sides intend to advance cooperation relations to higher levels.
