Petro and 1º D’Agosto, representatives of Angola in the African Champions League, each received, as a qualification prize, from CAF, the amount of five hundred and 50 thousand dollars, after having played in the play-off to access the competition .

According to Angop’s sports journalist, Walter Dos Reis, for each phase passed by the clubs, an additional two hundred thousand dollars are added to the value of the prize, if both clubs pass to the next phase of the competition, they will collect seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars (750,000 Usd), making a total of one and a half million dollars.
According to the same source, only the clubs “Petro and 1º D’Agosto” are awarded by CAF, since in light of the regulations, the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) should not receive any monetary value for the qualification of its affiliates.
However, if either club reaches the final, they will earn more than one million dollars.
It is the first time in history that two Angolan clubs compete in the group stage of the African Champions League, the draw for which is scheduled for the 9th of October, in Egypt.
