More than 700 people died in the last 24 hours due to the Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip, the Islamist group Hamas, which controls the Palestinian enclave, reported this Sunday.
“The Israeli occupation killed more than 700 Palestinian citizens in the last 24 hours and more than 1.5 million Palestinians are displaced in the Gaza Strip,” he announced through his official Telegram channel.
“There is no safe place in Gaza while Israeli occupation forces commit atrocities throughout the Strip,” the statement added.
Hamas’ announcement comes as the Israeli Army continues its offensive on the Strip for the third consecutive day after the end of the truce.
The Israeli military spokesperson reported today that its troops attacked multiple “terrorist targets” by air, sea and land and in different parts of the enclave.

Among these objectives, he specified that there were “terrorist tunnels, command centers and weapons storage facilities,” as well as a “terrorist cell.”
For its part, the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, denounced today that “the incessant Israeli bombardments have caused the destruction of numerous houses, buildings, residential apartments and both public and private properties.”
These bombings, WAFA specified, were concentrated mainly in towns in the north of the Strip, although they also extended to cities in the south, such as Khan Yunis.
Evacuations
Precisely, the Arabic spokesman for the Israeli Army, Avichay Adraee, urged residents of six neighborhoods of Khan Younis this Sunday to evacuate to other areas of the enclave.
“Dear residents of the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces have resumed their vigorous actions against Hamas and other terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip. We kindly inform you of the following in order to preserve your safety and protection,” Adraee wrote through the social network .
Since the war began, more than 15,200 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip and more than 40,000 have been injured, according to figures from the Strip’s Ministry of Health.
Furthermore, according to the latest figures released, nearly 80% of the 2.3 million inhabitants of Gaza have become internally displaced as a result of the Israeli offensive.
The war broke out on October 7 after a Hamas attack that included the launching of thousands of rockets towards Israel and the infiltration of some 3,000 militiamen who massacred some 1,200 people and kidnapped another 240 in Israeli communities near Gaza.
Israel responds with artillery to attacks from Syria and Lebanon
Israel attacked targets in Syria and Lebanon this Sunday in response to two attacks registered shortly before against its territory.
“Earlier today, a launch from Syria towards Israeli territory was identified,” reported the military spokesperson, who specified that the projectile was not intercepted, “in accordance with protocol.”
In response, Israeli troops responded by attacking the site from which the shot originated with artillery.
The Army reported that, during the night, “terrorists launched an anti-tank missile that landed in an open area in the Yiftah area of northern Israel,” with no injuries reported.
Shortly after, “artillery forces of the Israel Defense Forces attacked several locations in Lebanon,” the military statement added.
