The fourth edition of the Montfort Cup, organized by the Etablissement Montfort Saint-Gabriel Anjomakely in close collaboration with the Malagasy Mutualist Savings and Credit Society (SMMEC), is at its peak with an expected clash between SMMEC and CBBM during the semi-finals. The competition, which includes basketball and football tournaments in six distinct categories, enters its crucial phase with the basketball semi-finals which will take place this Saturday at the AT2B field in Andraisoro. On the bill, the SMMEC Avaradoha men’s team will face CBBM Imerimanjaka at 1:30 p.m. Meanwhile, the company’s women’s team will compete against the Prof ENSG team in Ambohipiadanana. The Montfort Cup is not only a celebration of sport, but also an initiative aimed at promoting the education and health of young people. “ The Etablissement Montfort Saint-Gabriel Anjomakely raises more than 500 young people. SMECC is interested in young people because they are the future of the country. We also aim to educate these young people so that they are not prone to drugs and to help them manage money better from a young age. », explains Hery Mamy Michel Nirina, deputy agency director. This edition attracted the participation of 33 football teams and 26 basketball teams. In addition to the semi-finals, dunk and 3-point shooting competitions as well as DJ entertainment are planned.
