Most of those affected are men, with 26 registered cases in comparison with 7 cases in women. The average age of patients is 27 years. 70% of patients are adults between 30 and 59 years old, 27% are young people between 18 and 29 years old, and only 3% are children between 0 and 11 years old. The disease can affect anyone, but young children and people with underlying immunodeficiencies are more likely to develop serious complications.

How to detect the virus?

Complications of monkeypox may include extensive lesions in sensitive areas such as the mouth, eyes and genitals, secondary bacterial infections and lung conditions. Symptoms include a skin rash that can last 2 to 4 weeks, fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain, fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes.
