The four ministers who were summoned as witnesses were the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) Muhadjir Effendy, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, and the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini.
Gibran admitted that he appreciated the ongoing trial process. “Yes, just go through the process. We respect the process that is taking place there,” said Gibran at Solo City Hall, Tuesday (2/4/2024).
However, when asked for a response regarding the summons to the Chairman of the Golkar Party, namely Airlangga Hartarto, Gibran was reluctant to provide information. Golkar is a member of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition which is running the pair Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 presidential election.
Previously, Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court Suhartoyo explained that the agenda for witness statements was scheduled for Friday (5/4/2024). The summons of the four ministers was a decision resulting from a meeting of constitutional judges. Apart from Jokowi’s four ministers, on the same day the MK also summoned the Honorary Council of Election Organizers (DKPP) to be questioned as witnesses.
“Friday will be reserved for summoning parties deemed necessary by the Constitutional Court based on the results of the Honorable Judges’ meeting this morning,” said Suhartoyo, Monday (1/4/2024).
