Medicinal essential oils are excellent for suppressing coughs and treating respiratory problems. Thanks to the high content of vitamin C, they strengthen the immune system.

Collection rules
The smallest green ends of the twigs are torn off, up to a maximum of five centimeters. They are cut with pruning shears after several shoots, on several trees. But never break whole branches! Spruce trees also absorb dirt from the surroundings, so choose only clean sites away from roads.

You need:
350 g of spruce shoots
1 liter of water
1 kg of granulated sugar
1 citron
Approach:
Rinse the sprouts and put them in a pot and cover with boiling water. Add lemon juice, cover with a lid and leave to infuse for two days. Then strain and add sugar to the infusion. Cook on low heat for about 1-1.5 hours. As soon as you have reached the desired density (you can tell by a drop on a plate), remove from the heat and immediately pour the finished honey into glasses. Cap and turn upside down.
Vinegar
You need:
3 spoons of spruce shoots
500 ml of apple cider vinegar
Approach:
Put the washed sprouts in a bottle with good quality apple cider vinegar. Stopper and leave to infuse for 14 days in a sunny place. Shake daily. Then strain and pour into a glass bottle. Store in a cool, dark place. You can rub herbal vinegar into the scalp without rinsing.
Tea
You need:
10 g of needles from young shoots
200 ml of water
Approach:
Place the needles in a cup and cover with cold water. Leave to infuse for about 12 hours. Then pour everything into a pot and cook for about 10 minutes, drain and sweeten with honey if necessary. Drink 2 cups a day for colds, rheumatism or nervousness. Discontinue treatment after one week.
Tincture
You need:
3 handfuls of spruce shoots
½ l pure alcohol (40%)
1 tablespoon of honey
Approach:
Pour the spruce shoots into the container and cover with alcohol so that all the branches are submerged. Add a spoonful of honey, mix and close the lid well. Leave to infuse for about 6 weeks in a warm, sunny place. Then drain. You can use the tincture, for example, to rub sore joints.
