Viky was born as a healthy baby, in the 8th month of life the development stopped. Doctors diagnosed the cute little angel with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) type 2, which causes muscles to weaken. Fortunately, the drug Zolgensma, which she was given when she was 19 months old, helped stop the deterioration.

Worries and hard work

Last winter, Viktorka used her legs minimally and hardly spoke. “I was worried about how it would turn out,” said Vika’s mother Veronika for Blesk. She decided to do her best to make Viky talk and move independently. And because they are both great fighters, they train hard together every day, undergo neurorehabilitation stays, hippotherapy… And Viktorka will already take a few steps herself.

With a walker

Of course, the new electric wheelchair is used extensively for this, which people in the miracle of Blesk have successfully donated via the collection platform Donio. At the same time, the need was to collect 242,000 crowns! However, the little fighter does not want to stay in the wheelchair and has a great desire to walk. “She is helped by a walker and prostheses, the progress is great,” says Veronika humbly.

Viktorka otherwise navigates the neighborhood on a special medical bouncer. She has strengthened her hands so that she can swing on a swing or climb a slide by herself. “Natural movement helps her a lot,” adds Veronika.

She wanted back

Mom is also very happy that Viktorka has started talking. Her brother Saša (9) helps her speak, with whom she sings, plays and nudges like siblings. The kindergarten she has just joined will contribute to Vika’s further development. “Viktorka was really looking forward to kindergarten. She was so excited the first day that when we picked her up after lunch she was crying so hard that she wanted to go back.” added Veronika.
