Minister of Transportation Ensures Smooth Eid 2024 Train Transport

JAKARTA – Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi visited Pasar Senen Train Station, Jakarta, Sunday (24/3). Minister of Transportation also coordinating with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) to ensure that train transportation services during the 2024 Eid Transport (Angleb) period run smoothly.

The Minister of Transportation said that there were several things being done to increase passenger comfort during their homeward and return journeys. First, the Eid train (KA) departure from Jakarta is carried out from four stations, namely Pasar Senen Station, Gambir Station, Manggarai Station and Bekasi Station. Second, PT KAI has added two new train series to West Java, namely the Pangandaran train with the Gambir Station – Banjar Station route, Tasikmalaya and the Papandayan train with the Gambir Station – Garut Station route.

“This is done to make it easier for passengers and to divide passengers so they don’t pile up at one station,” said the Minister of Transportation.

In Angleb 2024, PT KAI Daop I has provided 1,664 trains (KA), with an average of 76 trips per day. Meanwhile, there are 366 additional trains or an average of 17 trips per day. The Minister of Transportation expressed his appreciation to the officers who have provided maximum service to train passengers as well as coordinating various parties in ensuring smooth transportation for Eid.

“We did everything well. Earlier I greeted and asked several passengers. Most of them gave their appreciation to KAI and I hope that what we have done will be useful for the nation and provide good service so that we can carry out a cheerful and meaningful homecoming,” he continued. Apart from greeting passengers, the Minister of Transportation also distributed takjil to break the fast to train passengers at Pasar Senen station.
