Minister of Religion Issues Guide to Organizing Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr Worship Services 2024

JAKARTA – Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas published a guide for organizing Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr worship 1445 H. The circular was addressed to the Head of the Regional Office of the Provincial Ministry of Religion, the Head of the Regency/City Ministry of Religion Office, and the Head of the District Religious Affairs Office.

The circular was also conveyed to leaders of Islamic community organizations, administrators of the Mosque Welfare Agency, administrators of the National Dai Council, administrators and managers of mosques/prayer rooms, provincial and district/city Islamic Holiday committees, as well as the Muslim community in Indonesia.

“Muslims must carry out Ramadan and Idul Fitri worship according to Islamic law and uphold the value of tolerance,” said Gus Yaqut, Thursday (7/3/2024).

The following are the complete provisions of the Minister of Religion Circular No SE 1 of 2024 concerning Guidelines for Organizing Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr Worship Services for the Year 1445 Hijriah/2024 AD:

1. Muslims are advised to maintain Islamic brotherhood and tolerance in responding to potential differences in the determination of 1 Ramadan 1445 Hijriah/2024 AD.

2. Muslims perform Ramadan and Hari Raya Eid al-Fitr in accordance with Islamic law and uphold the value of tolerance.

3. Muslims are encouraged to fill and increase their broadcasts during the month of Ramadan while still adhering to the Circular Letter of the Minister of Religion Number 05 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for Using Loudspeakers in Mosques and Prayer Rooms.

4. Muslims are encouraged to carry out various activities in mosques, prayer rooms and other places in order to spread the word of Ramadan and convey messages of piety and strengthen brotherhood among the nation’s children.

5. Eid takbiran is carried out in mosques, prayer rooms and other places with the provisions of following the Circular Letter of the Minister of Religion Number 05 of 2022 concerning Guidelines for Using Loudspeakers in Mosques and Prayer Rooms.
