He Minister of Education, Morgan Queroannounced an hourly wage increase in the remuneration of teachers at technical and pedagogical institutes.
The head of Minedu commented that this decision was agreed upon after a meeting with the head of the Ministerial Cabinet, Gustavo Adrianzén; the Minister of Economy and Finance, José Arista; and the union of teachers from technological and pedagogical institutes.

«They will be given recognition and an increase of 15 soles per hour (to technological and pedagogical teachers) starting in November. This implies a budget that we currently have in the Ministry of Education and that we will make available to the teachers and next year we will give it the corresponding financial sustainability»he said.
The minister noted that during the Government of In Boluartethe national teaching profession has received important recognition with increases of more than 48% in their salaries.
«In Peru, we give this recognition to teachers, and in recent months they have been given a 500 soles increase. We are looking at the budget that we are going to approve through the Congress of the Republic in November, the possibility of an increase for next year, and in that sense, the doors are open for dialogue»he indicated.
Morgan Quero compared the salaries of Peruvian teachers with those of other South American countries, highlighting that Peru is the third best-paid country, followed by Uruguay and then Brazil.
“It is important that we all recognize that there is no decline in the salary conditions of our teachers and, in addition, every time they move up the ranks in the Public Teaching Career, through meritocracy and competitions, they can improve their remuneration”he pointed out.
