JAKARTA – The United States F-22 Raptor fighter jets participating in multinational military exercises in Australia are planned to transit and land in Indonesia, specifically at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Air Force Base, Badung, Bali.

The multinational military exercise itself will be held in Australia in August. To prepare for the landing of the F-22 Raptor, the Indonesian Air Force has begun preparing for the arrival of the aircraft.

There will be six F-22 Raptor fighter planes that will land at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Air Force Base (Air Base). From Indonesia, this US aircraft is planned to travel to Brunei Darussalam.

The F-22 Raptor fighter jet is a fighter jet produced by Lockheed Martin, United States, which until now is still considered the most powerful because of its superior capabilities.

The F-22 Raptor fighter jet is a combination of stealth, super-cruise, maneuverability, and integrated avionics.

The jet, which first took to the air in 1997, is 18.9 meters long, 5.1 meters high and has a wingspan of 13.6 meters. The empty weight is 19,700 kilograms, and the maximum weight reaches 38,000 kilograms.

The aircraft is equipped with two Pratt and Whitney F119-100 afterburning turbofan engines, allowing it to have a thrust of 35,000 poh. Its own speed is estimated to reach more than 1.5 Mach.

Not only does it have supersonic speed, the F-22 also has an RCS that is 12x lower than other fighter aircraft, so its detection distance is lower than other aircraft.

For tracking capabilities, this US fighter jet is equipped with a series of advanced sensors that allow pilots to track, identify, shoot and kill air-to-air threats before they are detected.

Meanwhile, from the attack side, the F-22 Raptor carries six AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles and two AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles. There is also an M61A2 Vulcan cannon mounted internally above the right air intake.
