GAZA – United States of America (The US) has sent a message to Iran amid rising tensions in the Middle East. The message is certainly an effort to defend Israel from all forms of threats.

1. Sending Nuclear Submarines and Aircraft Carriers

Ibrahim Fraihat, an associate professor at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, said the US was sending a message to Iran by ordering guided missile submarines and an aircraft carrier strike group to speed up its arrival in the Middle East.

“The US is working on various channels,” he said, as reported by Al Jazeera.

“One of them is to pose in the region and send a very strong message to Iran that, ‘We are ready not only at the rhetorical level by making statements, but also by sending aircraft carriers and submarines to the region to be ready and defend Israel,’” the academic said.

2. Preparing for Ceasefire Negotiations

Fraihat also said that the international community is preparing for talks on a ceasefire in the Gaza war on August 15.

“Secondly … the US is very much relying on these talks to try to reach a breakthrough. And for that they sent three of their top diplomats,” Fraihat said.

“The US is working on both fronts to contain escalation in the region,” he said.
