Miguel Ángel López, breaks the silence after sanction for doping

Miguel Ángel López, Colombian cyclist recognized in the field of elite cycling, has decided to face the four-year sanction imposed by the International Cycling Union (UCI) after being informed of the decision. In an official statement, López expressed his deep disagreement with the measure, arguing that he disagrees with previous decisions issued by the Spanish courts and the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).

The athlete maintains that the sanction is based on a biased and manipulated interpretation of conversations, which he claims do not imply any infraction. In his own words, “I understand that the infraction is non-existent and the sanction unjustified”. López announced that he will immediately appeal to the UCI with the aim of proving his innocence and thus be able to return to the competitive world of cycling.

In his statement, López thanked the support received from his followers, team and family, highlighting the importance of support in difficult times like this. “I thank the people who support me, all the positive messages from the fans and the continued support of my team and my family”said the cyclist.
