The first year of the Mighty Sounds festival was held in 2005. However, with the growing interest in the busy program of the festival, the venue had to be changed. Now the premises of the Tábor airport are sufficient and more than 10,000 fans visit it annually. A third of the audience comes from abroad. The line-up is made up mainly of foreign musical representatives. Czech artists are only an accessory.

The legendary group Rancid will come from far away California, which will certainly be among the most sought after at the entire festival. Melbourne friendly Dub FX or the group Hatebreed will also attract attention with their metal and hardcore concert. For the second time, the energetic group will perform at the Mighty Sounds festival Enter Shikari. There won’t be a bunch missing either The Interrupters led by the captivating Aimee.

Other performers will be, for example Black Flag, Ignite, Moscow Death Brigade, Comeback Kid, Dog Eat Dog, Rude, Baby powder, Doctor Krapula, Dwarves, Klingonz, Bob Vylan, Loikaemi or Rogers.

The Czech and Slovak scenes will be represented by bands Fast Food Orchestra, Hentai Corporation, Saints & Sinners, Skywalker, Old rifles, The Rocket Dogz, Catastrofy, Mushroom, You are not wrong, Rabies, Marked as an Enemy a SPS.

Transport to Mighty Sounds 2023

I own a car

The festival parking lot is located in the immediate vicinity of the area. Road from Prague it takes about one hour to Tábor and you drive the entire time on expressway number 3 (E55). The route to the festival will be clearly marked from the roundabout between Tábor and Sezimov Ústí.

If you are going to the festival from Brno, you need about 2 hours to travel. The easiest way is to take the D1 highway and take road number 34 in Humpolc. At Pelhřimov you will join road number 19.

Fans from Liberec they can go via Prague or Poděbrady and Kolín. The journey through Prague takes about 2 hours compared to the other route through Poděbrady, which takes half an hour longer. For a faster route, you can take the D10 expressway to the Prague Ring Road. You will drive from Prague to Tábor on road number 3.

Who travels from České Budějovice, can comfortably make the journey in 40 minutes. You will drive the entire way along the D3 highway.

By bus

Bus from Prague it takes 1-2 hours to Tábor. It depends on which connection you choose. The direct connection runs several times a day and the journey takes around one hour. Transfer connections take longer and mean a change of bus in Písek, sometimes in Dobříš and Sedlčany or in Benešov.

On the road from Brno save yourself 5.5 hours. You will transfer in Prague or České Budějovice. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to catch a direct bus service that takes 2.75 hours. Unfortunately, there is only one connection per day.

Liberec fans, who want to travel to the festival by bus, must change in Prague and possibly other cities. The journey takes 4-5 hours.

From České Budějovice there is a direct connection several times a day that takes 1-1.5 hours.

By train

The Tábor – Čápův dvůr bus stop is located right next to the festival grounds. Train from Prague they run several times an hour and you don’t have to change anywhere. You are there in an hour or an hour and a quarter. Spectators from Brno he must count on a transfer in Prague or Veselí nad Lužnicí. You will find a connection every hour and the journey will take you 4.5 hours.

For traveling by train from Liberec you need a necessary amount of patience. Several transfers await you, mostly in Turnov and Prague. There are approximately 6 connections per day and the journey takes around 4 hours.

All transport connections will take you to stops that are approximately 1 km from the festival grounds. Lines 10, 11, 13, 17, 50 go to the Sídliště Nad Lužnicí stop. Lines 15 and 16 go to the Tesco stop. Most lines run at regular intervals of 5 – 20 minutes.

Accommodation at Mighty Sounds Festival 2023

Part of the festival area is a tent city of two categories. You can also arrive by motorhome or caravan. Prices range from 690 CZK – 990 CZK per tent. A residential plot then from 4,900 – 7,700 CZK.

The town of Tábor or Sezimovo Ústí and adjacent locations also offer high-quality accommodation. With this variant, it is advisable to book accommodation as soon as possible. You also have to take into account the necessary transport to and from the festival. You can use public transport or one of the local taxi companies. However, the price of a taxi from these locations should not exceed 300 CZK for one trip.

Right now, accommodation for two nights in Tábor or Sezimov Ústí is around 8,000 CZK for two people. Cheaper accommodation is already sold out. In the area within 20 km from Tábor you can find cheaper accommodation, from around 1,800 CZK, most often up to 3,000 CZK.
