MG4: – Lower the price

(Elbil24): Among Chinese car brands, MG has sold the most cars in Norway and a total of around 14,000 vehicles have been registered on Norwegian roads. Of these, almost 2,000 are of the MG4 model.

Now MG importer Norwegian Mobility Group has chosen to lower the price by NOK 20,000 on the MG4. This amounts to 7.3 and 6.1 percent in the Standard and Luxury editions of the car, respectively.

The new entry price will therefore be NOK 265,900 for the standard version, which only arrived on the market a year ago. The price includes shipping and delivery. The Luxury edition costs NOK 60,000 more, but offers more benefits:

  • Larger battery and therefore longer range (435 vs 350 km)
  • 11 kW on-board charger (vs 6.6) and faster fast charging (140 kW vs 88 kW)
  • Blind spot warning, navigation, 360-degree camera with voice control, heated power folding mirrors, wireless charging plate, power-adjustable driver’s seat, 18-inch wheels (vs 17″)
  • Heat pump

This is what the owners think

In Elbil24’s December reader survey, we received 19 responses from MG4 owners. Just over half of them had the Luxury edition and gave it an average of 5.18 eyes on the die, which was higher than the average for the entire survey (5.13). Those with the standard edition weren’t as satisfied and gave it an average of 4.67.

If we look at all the answers together, owners are most satisfied with the summer range, charging speed on the road and the ease of parking the car, while infotainment/operation, stereo system, apps and air conditioning are the categories in which it scores bad.

Here it is worth noting that the owners of the Luxury edition gave the air conditioning more than half a degree more, so the heat pump clearly has a positive effect there.
