Mexicans residing abroad expressed their concern and anger at the notification from the National Electoral Institute (INE), which by email informed them that their registration presents inconsistencies, which resulted in them being excluded from the Nominal List of Voters for June 2. .
Sofía Sánchez, Renata Fernández and Carlos Arriola questioned the INE, because months ago it confirmed that they could vote; However, in the end they will not be able to do it.
They also criticized the little time they have to send their documentation to the INE; They consider that, with this decision of the institute, there is a very high possibility that they will be left off the nominal list and will not be able to vote, since there are only eight weeks left until the largest elections in history.
On Friday, the INE reported that it decided to reject 39,724 voting requests from Mexicans from abroad due to irregularities in the signature, proof of address, non-compliance with registration and registrations with multiple irregularities.
Carlos Arriola, 50 years old, who lives in Barcelona, Spain, shares that he received notification months ago that he could participate by exercising his right to vote on June 2; However, he also received the email from the INE indicating that his inclusion was inappropriate.
“Given your exclusion from the Nominal List of Voters Resident Abroad from the final review of your application, inconsistencies were identified or an invalid situation was recorded,” says the INE email.
