Meta confirmed that Facebook had a technical error causing user accounts to be logged out

Meta communications director confirmed that Facebook social network had an access error that caused user accounts to log out and the problem was quickly resolved.

Social networking platforms Facebook, Instagram and Threads have returned to normal operations after a problem lasting about two hours on the night of March 5.

In 2021, Meta’s social networks Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp also crashed globally within a few hours

“Early this morning, we noted a technical issue that caused users to have difficulty accessing some services,” Meta communications director Andy Stone said in an official statement. “We quickly resolved the above incident and would like to apologize to the affected accounts.”

The logout problem of one of the world’s largest social networking platforms was recorded on the evening of March 5 (Vietnam time) and lasted until about 11:30 p.m. the same day. Specifically, Facebook users are logged out of their accounts and cannot access again, while Instagram cannot download new content, and Threads displays an error message asking to access again. Some users thought their accounts were hacked during a time when Facebook had a technical error.

As soon as the problem was recorded globally, Meta informed users that their “Facebook Login” was “having problems” and the engineering team was quickly finding a solution.

Last night’s incident was reminiscent of a similar Meta incident that took place in 2021 when Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp went down for several hours.
