Melgar defeats Alianza Lima 1-0, eliminating their options in the Apertura

Last Sunday, Alianza Lima suffered a 1-0 defeat against FBC Melgar at the UNSA Monumental Stadium in Arequipa. This result eliminated any possibility of Alianza fighting for the Apertura Tournament title., since it was left behind in fourth position. On the other hand, the victory led to the “red and black” to the fight for the title by adding 26 points and placing themselves in third place.

In a close match between Alianza Lima and Melgar, It was the young player Kenji Cabrera who made the difference with a spectacular free kick goal in the 63rd minute of the match.

During the first half, the “intimates” had several opportunities to score, showing an offensive game. However, it was the visitors who came close to scoring first, but goalkeeper Carlos Cáceda managed to stop the shots that were going straight to the goal.
