Approval of the upper limit of prices of medicines by the Tariff (Price) Council will allow the population to buy medicines at a lower price.
Publika.az informs that at the next meeting of the Council, which was held today, it was decided to apply the upper limit of the wholesale and retail prices of all medicines approved until now.
Until this decision was adopted, a single price was applied for medicines and all pharmacies sold medicines at that single price. Now, those unit prices have been approved as a ceiling, which means that drugs can be sold at prices lower than the approved prices.
The adopted decision will allow to improve access to medicines, create a more favorable competitive environment in this field, and allow the population to buy medicines at a lower price than the regulated prices.
Tariffs are effective from today.
It should be noted that the Tariff (Price) Council, represented by 13 state institutions, was tasked with approving the upper limit of the wholesale and retail prices of pharmaceuticals with the amendments made to the Law “On Medicines” by the relevant Decree of the Head of State.
