M’Balia becomes the fifth eliminated from MasterChef Celebrity

The singer M’Balia became the fifth eliminated from the fourth season of “MasterChef Celebrity”, for delivering a poorly prepared sauce that generated anger, tears and disappointment from the judges.

“Thank you for the adventure because this boat was intense and fun for each of you. Keep having fun and congratulations because you are part of an incredible season,” said the interpreter, before leaving the most famous kitchen in Mexico.

Minutes before, chef Poncho Cadena gave the instructions in a black apron: “in this challenge the mission is very simple, there is a specific task: make the best sauce of your lives.”

Chef Adrián Herrera commented that it was not about presenting a plate of soup with sauce, but that the latter had to be the protagonist: “what is going to shine, I need to add a protein or a vegetable, something where the sauce, shine.”

So the former member of the OV7 group decided to make a Mexican chocolate sauce with ancho chili, a little pasilla chili, cinnamon, honey, butter.

“The first thing that comes to my mind is this chocolate sauce that my children like. It also connects very well with me because chocolate is always present at home,” he said.

However, the result was not what she expected: “it’s not the sauce I usually make, but it reduced well, you feel a sting and whether or not what I had was well played.”

When the critics tried her dish, Chef Poncho burst into tears and told her that, although it was not her best preparation, it had the spirit of the artist, something that is appreciated.

The other two chefs were harsher with her, like Zahie Téllez, who did not hide her annoyance at what she had just tasted:

“I don’t know if it is a sauce for something salty and I don’t know if it is a sauce for a dessert, for me it is a sauce that is not defined,” said the gastronomic expert.

Adrián Herrera complemented with the following:

“The sauce doesn’t go with the beef, it doesn’t work at all, it’s a very bad combination”

Before being expelled, M’Balia mentioned in the confessional that she was a big fan of the three chefs, she always wanted to be here and she was grateful for the opportunity to be here.

“I like the intensity, it has been totally worth it because I have reached places that I didn’t know about myself.”
