Master actress Fatma Karanfil passed away

Fatma Karanfil, who played the role of Şayeste in the Aşk-ı Memnu TV series broadcast between 2008 and 2010, had been receiving cancer treatment for a long time. Sad news came from the player, whose condition worsened and he was intubated in the past few days.

WHO IS FATMA KARANFİL?

Fatma Karanfil was born on February 3, 1952 in Eskişehir. After completing his education at the Language and Culture Center, he started his cinema career by placing third in the Ses Magazine competition in 1968. Karanfil, who married Ali Kocatepe in 1975 but later separated, went to London to study textiles between 1976 and 1980. Although she was diagnosed with breast cancer, she overcame the disease and returned to the stage in 2001.

The artist, who came to the fore again with her role in the TV series Aşk-ı Memnu, broadcast on Kanal D in 2008, was deemed worthy of many awards throughout her career. He was selected as the Artist of the Year by the Izmir Journalists Association in 1968, and was deemed worthy of the same award by the Ankara Journalists Association in 1972.
