Martha Isabel Bolaños explained why her US visa was taken away

Martha Isabel Bolaños achieved fame in the nineties with her character as Jenny García, in Yo soy Betty, la fea. From there, her name became known internationally and she established herself as one of the most outstanding talents on Colombian television.

After that moment of glory, he tried to maintain success with other jobs and participated in renowned productions, such as Francisco, el mathematician, El man es Germán or El capo 3. His roles, in the vast majority, were that of the “bomb sexy” of the story.

According to Martha Isabel, this identification forced her to maintain optimal physical condition, but over time she obtained other roles to continue in the spotlight.

In this process, the actress from Valle del Cauca traveled to the United States looking for new opportunities for her career. “I remember 20 years ago when I lived in Chicago. There I had many jobs while pursuing my American dream, and one of my favorites was working as a host at a very popular Italian restaurant in a suburb called Evanston. My boss is still my friend; Giovanni. And what is all this about? I used to listen to this song while driving around Lake Michigan or while I was heading to work on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Those times… Pure and hard learning; “Someday I will tell you that story,” she recalled on her social networks.

Although she did not manage to break through as an actress in the North American country, she did have auditions. “When I went to Chicago I was ‘waiting’ and at the same time I was casting and auditioning, good things started to happen to me. I decided due to emotional issues to return to Colombia and they canceled my visa, I could not re-enter,” she added in her official profiles recently.

Although many could see her decision as a failure, she does not consider it that way, but sees it as necessary to have reached the good point she is at today. Likewise, she feels fulfilled for having made a career in her own country and she considers that this has been a resounding success in her personal sphere, focusing on her professional goals.

“If I had stayed, I would have won a casting and I wouldn’t be here. I returned to Colombia, I went to the ‘Island of the Famous’ and the most important part of my career began, those are the decisions,” he added, referring to the good times he has had in front of the cameras after repatriating.

Finally, the artist made an invitation to reflect, sharing her own experience and defining that in life there are decisions that have to be made yes or yes. “This life is so short and has so many possibilities that you have to go with it,” concluded the woman from Cali.

Martha Isabel Bolaños will not be in the second season of Betty, la fea

Although the role of ‘La Pupuchurra’ was iconic, it was decided that she would not be in the second installment of Ugly Betty, which will premiere in 2024 on Prime Video.

“Almost a year ago I knew that my character was not going. My manager told me ‘Marthica, they are going to do the second part of Betty, your character is not going.’ At that moment I accepted it 100%. Now that it has started and that I have seen Marcela (Posada), with Estefanía (Gómez), I said ‘see, and why?’” she expressed in an interview with I know everything.

He also added that an attempt has been made to explain the reason. “The justification that I have given myself is that Paula Peña (who plays Sofía López de Rodríguez, her rival in Ecomoda) is not going, Jenny has no one to fight with. But then I say, What a lack of imagination! “If everyone arrives 20 years later with new lives, Jenny could have arrived with any other story,” she continued. With Infobae
