“Maroukiah Hara” enters Moroccan halls

Moroccan cinema halls are preparing to receive the new feature film “Morookiya Hara”, by Moroccan director Hicham Al Asri, next May 1, after touring a group of international festivals, most notably the International Film Festival in Marrakesh, which hosted the world premiere of this work.

Hisham Al-Asri said that the tape “Marokiya Hara” is a black comedy in the city of Casablanca, and its idea came from the series “Besara Over Dos,” which in 2017 sparked great controversy and uproar and created a popular debate, adding that, based on that, he tried to write the script in order to show the other side. Al-Assri added, in a statement to Hespress, that the comedy “Mrokeya Hara”, which takes place in Casablanca, represents the energy charge of this city of laughter, screaming, noise and violence, and it tells the story of the heroine “Katie” or Khadija, who found herself in her thirties and did not find compassion. She has no lover, friend, or parents to take care of her, so the viewer lives with her that day that will pass by in the streets of Al-Bayda.

The spokesman continued: “There is a kind of comedy in the film, and the idea is based on showing that this woman, with her strength and power, is surrounded by…[الضباع] Who will overcome her in some way, and we show how this woman throws herself into things that she is not capable of and complains of a set of problems.”

The Moroccan director explained, in his conversation with Hespress, that he based his tape on the narration of “Portrait” of a young Moroccan woman in our current era and the conflicts she faces with time, society, masculinity, and herself, while adopting the “sarcasm” method, and at the same time there are a set of lessons; Her story includes a lot of drama and tragedy.
