Marina Cué land titling process begins

The president of the National Institute of Rural and Land Development (INDERT), Francisco Ruiz Díaz, confirmed that they have already begun the land titling process for Marina Cué. Ruiz Díaz met with the Canindeyú deputy, Cristina Villalba, with whom he spoke about the progress of the work.

“He showed me the titles that are going to be delivered in the next few days in Canindeyú. We want to exceed 7,000 property titles before next August 15, and what it is up to me from the Lower House we are supporting very closely,” highlighted the parliamentarian.

He explained that this Thursday a Government team, led by Indert and other State institutions, will go to the settlement located in Curuguaty to begin the titling process.

In order to know the current situation of this property, which in June 2012 a tragedy had occurred, where 11 farmers and 6 police officers died as a result of a confrontation, the president of INDERT maintained that in June of last year, the Executive Branch previous, promulgated the law that disaffects these lands that belonged to the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development (Mades) and its transfer to Indert in favor of the residents settled in the place.

He said that this legislation establishes that the 1,700 hectares that were in charge of Mades, be destined for human settlement and in favor of agrarian reform, since it is occupied by farmers, and because these lands no longer fulfill the function of a forested natural reserve, as established in 2015.
