NEW YORK — Authorities are on the lookout for a suspect involved in the stabbing of three women within an hour at Manhattan subway stations on Sunday afternoon, according to the New York City Police.
The first incident occurred around 4:14 pm when a 19-year-old girl was exiting the line 4 train at the 86 Street – Lexington Avenue station, as stated in the police report. As the victim ascended the platform stairs towards the exit, the suspect approached her from behind and stabbed her in the right leg with an unidentified object.
Simultaneously, the suspect also targeted a 48-year-old woman standing on the southbound platform, severing her right leg. The assailant then fled on a line 4 train.
In this case, both victims from the same station were promptly transported to a nearby hospital and received medical treatment for their injuries.
About 10 minutes later, at approximately 4:32 p.m., the same individual approached another 28-year-old woman aboard the line 4 train near the Brooklyn Bridge – City Hall station and severed her left leg with an unknown sharp object.
Exiting the train at the Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall station, the suspect was last seen fleeing through the Brooklyn Bridge subway station exit towards Chambers Street, with his whereabouts currently unknown. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for a severe laceration to her left leg.
The suspect is described as a male with short black hair, brown eyes, standing at 5’8″ tall, and weighing approximately 220 lbs. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue pants, black tennis shoes, and a black baseball cap with a red letter “B” on the front.
