Carabineros from the Second Police Station of Putre arrested a foreign citizen for attempting to bribe police personnel.
The individual, of Bolivian nationality, was intercepted while driving a tractor-trailer with Bolivian license plates. The lack of maintenance on the tires and the absence of a tachograph in the unit motivated the inspection in the commune of the Arica and Parinacota region.
After receiving the corresponding violation, They captured the moment when the detainee left a $10 thousand pesos bill in a folderapparently with the intention of annulling the fine.
In response to this attempted bribe, one of the police declared: “Gentleman, come with me. He is offering 10 thousand pesos to avoid the finebut you should know that Carabineros does not accept bribes, since it is a crime.”
Likewise, he added: “You must turn off your vehicle, hand over the keys and accompany me to the unit, since you are detained for attempted bribery of a Carabinero on duty.”
