He learned about the competition from a friend who has the same boxing coach. Both applied, but in the end only Petr advanced. Under the skin of an attractive man hides an inspiring story of a fighter who does not give up. “I was in a car accident with a friend when I was seventeen. Unfortunately, he is no longer with us…” Petr began to tell Bleska what happened to him.
Death of a friend
“We were young guys, he had a fresh driver’s license at eighteen. I was sitting in the back, my brother was in the passenger seat. I don’t remember much, but I know from the police report that we were driving the 140. A friend hit a retarder, skidded and hit a lamp, which flipped over on us.” described a tragic accident. Fortunately, he was not strapped in the back and flew out of the car through the back window. “That lamp would kill me in the car,” he stated.

His brother found him five meters from the car. “He was afraid I was dead! He started pounding on me because my lung was crushed, he was trying to stop the bleeding somehow, meanwhile the ambulance arrived. They had to amputate my leg quickly because I almost bled to death in that ambulance.” he recalled the difficult moments of his life.
Strong sedative
Because of the amputated leg, he cried only once, moreover, under the influence of strong sedatives. “They had to put me back together for many months, I was cut all over from the glass. I could only lie straight for a whole month because I had torn ligaments in my right leg and I didn’t have the left one. I had a crushed pelvis…” he described all his injuries.
To this day, he is grateful to the paramedics for his life – his friend who was driving unfortunately died while being transported to the hospital…
Tuned prosthesis
The father of three has no problem with the promenade in his underwear. “I don’t see my body negatively. I have no problem showing him. I just had my prosthesis adjusted for the competition,” admitted Petr, saying that he asked his friend Lukáš, who knows how to spray artistically, if he would come up with something for his foot, which is made of plastic. He painted the rest of the prosthesis with steel paint. If he wins the Man of the Year competition on August 23 in Náchod, he would like to start taking pictures professionally.
