Mamata alleges vote rigging in EVMs in Lok Sabha elections – 2024-05-03 14:47:21

The National Election Commission of India has released the percentage of votes cast across the country in the first and second phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Last Tuesday (April 30), the National Election Commission informed that the first round of voting was 66.14 percent and the second round was 66.71 percent. Suddenly 5.75 percent votes increased.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday (May 1) participated in a public meeting in Farakka in support of Trinamool candidate Shahnawaz Ali Raihan from Malda South Lok Sabha constituency.

Complaining about the National Election Commissioner and the BJP from the forum today, the Chief Minister said that the election is really about various hypocrisies and lies. The first round and the second round of elections were held. Based on the sources of the Election Commission, all the media have written where the percentage of votes was. I suddenly heard last night that BJP has suddenly increased to 5.75 percent votes in places where it had low votes. The National Election Commission has also issued a notice in this regard.

He also said who made the EVM machines to clear the doubts of the citizens. Who made the EVM machine chip? How did this number increase? What was the first round of elections and how many votes were cast in the second round of elections? We want to know how many voters and how many machines were used. Around 19 lakh EVM machines have been missing for a long time.

I doubt that BJP-ruled states are changing people’s votes and voting for themselves. People should not have this doubt. That is why we will ask the National Election Commission to clear people’s doubts. There is no benefit in BJP sitting as a commission. People of India want to see you as an impartial commission.

Then the Chief Minister mentioned the Indo-Bangladesh gas pipeline and raised his anger against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, I know that a work of Indo-Bangladesh gas pipeline is being done by Adani company. But that work is not happening anywhere in Bengal. If not in Bengal, how can it be in other states, how can you tell so many lies? For the BJP, Bengal is a double whammy because there are more minority people in Bengal.

He said, West Bengal is a big state. If you want to do something in Delhi, it will cost 2000 crore rupees and if you want to do it in Bengal, it will cost about 30000 crore rupees.

Talking about the Farakka water agreement, the Chief Minister said that when the Farakka agreement was signed between the then Prime Minister Deve Gowda, CPM and Bangladesh, the central government promised to give Rs 700 crore as compensation to the state. Didn’t pay a penny. The dredging of Farakka barrage is not done. As a result, the water is drying up. Even in the scorching heat of this summer, water is not available properly. Repeatedly nothing is happening. There should be a big movement about it.
