Malaria killed more than 2 thousand citizens in the first quarter

The main cause of death in the country and on the African continent, malaria, continues to kill thousands of people in Angola, with an increasing number of cases and deaths, higher than those recorded in the first three months of 2019.

This year alone, in the first quarter, the period corresponding from January to March, according to data from the Ministry of Health, released by Rádio Nacional de Angola (RNA), this week, more than 200 thousand cases and more than 460 deaths were registered, in relation the same period of the previous year.

Between January and March of this year, two million 65 and 663 cases have already been registered across the country, with two thousand and 548 cases ending in deaths. In the same period of 2019, one million 865 thousand and 265 cases had been registered, with two thousand and 81 deaths recorded.

Comparing the same periods in 2019 and 2020, there was an increase of around 200 thousand and 398 in the number of cases and 467 in the number of deaths, despite the alarmism of the situation, the Ministry of Health guarantees that the situation is not worrying.

To prevent the disease, health authorities advise citizens to use musketeers.
