There is no need to go under the knife, you can still have dimples thanks to 3 simple makeup steps. This is a makeup trick called “Making fake dimples” that has been trending on social networks recently.
1. Determine the appropriate ”dimple” position
Natural dimples often appear at the outer corners of the lips or higher on the cheeks. To determine where to apply makeup to create dimples, smile in front of the mirror and pay attention to the folds on your cheeks. The right place to create dimples is right outside these folds on both sides of the face. You can mark a small dot with an eye shadow applicator or eyeliner.
Don’t forget to check this position at different angles in front of the mirror to ensure the most balanced and realistic look. After determining the exact position, prepare your makeup tools to start applying makeup to create the “dimple” effect.
2. Create contour for fake dimples
First, use a matte contour powder that is darker than your skin tone and draw a small dot at the location determined in the first step. From this dot, draw a small curve, downwards and inwards, about 0.5-1 cm long, not too sharp to look the most natural.
After drawing a small curve to create a dimple, you need to blur and blend it evenly. Use a small makeup brush or your finger to gently blend the pencil line you just drew, blurring the lines to create a soft effect that blends with your skin tone.
To increase the naturalness, you can apply a little light-colored powder to the dimples you just created. Powder will help highlight dimples and keep makeup lasting longer.
3. Adjust your makeup
Once you have completed the dimple creation steps, you should smile in front of the mirror to check the effect. Try smiling brightly to see if the dimples look natural and attractive. If you are still not satisfied, you can add a light layer of contouring to the dimpled area and repeat the same steps to improve the naturalness and elegance.
