Life Style: Cauliflower Fry or Gobi Fry is a delicious South Indian street style snack made with cauliflower florets. It is an extremely crispy, spicy, hot and delicious snack that is often made to order and served hot.
In this post I am sharing a very easy recipe of fried cauliflower florets without any colour. You can serve them as is with tomato ketchup or add some chopped coriander leaves, finely chopped raw onion and serve with a slice of lemon. Vegetarian recipe.
Material
2 cups cauliflower florets from 1 medium head of cabbage
2 tbsp rice flour
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp water
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
6 curry leaves
salt to taste
oil for deep frying
water to boil cauliflower
Method
Blanch the cauliflower florets in salted hot water for 5 minutes. Wash with cold water and spread in a single layer on a plate.
-Put the cauliflower florets in a mixing bowl. Add turmeric powder, salt, chilli powder, garam masala powder, chaat masala powder, chopped curry leaves, ginger garlic paste and mix well so that the spices coat all the flowers.
– Add rice flour and mix well.
– Heat oil for deep frying. Take each flower separately and gently drop it into the hot oil.
-Deep fry the gobi until it becomes crispy and golden. Drain off excess oil and serve cauliflower fries as a snack.
