As part of the fight against drug trafficking by criminal organizations, the Brussels North police zone organized a large-scale judicial operation on Monday. More than 20 searches were carried out.

150 police officers from the Brussels North Zone, with the support of other police zones, carried out a large-scale operation on Monday in which more than 20 searches were carried out. These mainly took place in the Navez district. A total of 13 suspects could be arrested who were probably active in a criminal organization. According to the police, the searches were aimed at the alleged organizers of the drug trade in the area.

The suspects will all be interrogated and the investigating judge will decide on any further arrests.

In February 2022, the Brussels North Police Zone had already responded in large numbers in the area around Navezstraat. She then carried out 17 searches and 15 arrests and seized 13 kg of cannabis, 300 grams of cocaine, as well as 150,000 euros and 5 vehicles. Since then, most of those arrested have been sentenced to various sentences.

In recent months, PolBruNo police officers had repeatedly seized narcotics hidden in and around Navez Street, disrupting drug trafficking. Because the police zone was aware of the risk of resumption of drug sales in this neighborhood, they remained present and vigilant in the neighborhood. It later turned out that a new criminal organization had established itself in the neighborhood.
