The day before yesterday, around 5 p.m., a personal injury traffic accident occurred on the RN4 axis, at PK 28+200, connecting the place called Tsenakely, fokontany Antongombato, in the rural commune of Mahitsy, district of Ambohidratrimo. A Sprinter hit a tuk-tuk carrying 3 passengers. The accident occurred outside the built-up area, on a slope. According to the first elements of the investigation by the gendarmes of the territorial brigade of the national gendarmerie of Mahitsy, the Sprinter, a bush taxi traveling between Antananarivo and Mahajanga, hit the tricycle from behind. Under the force of the impact, the latter overturned on the left side before ending its journey on the right edge of the road. The accident is believed to have been due to the carelessness of the driver of the car. The three occupants of the tricycle, aged 16, 32 and 66, were slightly injured. All three are residents of Antongombato. They were quickly transported to Bejofo Hospital in Mahitsy to receive the necessary care. An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of this accident. During this busy period linked to the end of the holidays, bush taxi drivers are particularly in demand. It is therefore essential that they exercise the utmost vigilance and scrupulously respect the highway code. Incessant back and forth without sufficient breaks is often singled out as a frequent cause of accidents.
