Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has been hospitalized again. He is said to be suffering from an infection. He is being treated at the country’s National Heart Institute.
Mahathir’s spokesman confirmed his illness on Tuesday. However, it was not confirmed what kind of infection he was suffering from.
98-year-old Mahathir, the father of modern Malaysia, has been suffering from heart complications for a long time. He underwent heart bypass. For the past few years, he has been kept in hospital.
The two-decade-long ruler was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday in a case. But he could not go due to illness. Finally, last January 26, Mahathir was admitted to the National Heart Institute of Malaysia.
