The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, thanked his US counterpart on Wednesday, Donald Trump, for the efforts that have allowed the rescue of the girl Mikelias Escobar Bernal, who was separated from their parents in US territory.

From the Miraflores Palace, where he received the minor of two years with his mother and grandmother, Maduro also recognized the negotiating work of his delegate, Jorge Rodríguez, to take the reunion to happy.
“The miracle has been consummated again,” he said about the intense negotiations, which included the mediation of Trump’s special envoy, Richard Grenelll. “Differences have been and there will be, but it is possible (…) to move forward and resolve many issues,” he added.
Maduro said that in the support work to repatriate the girl, civil rights and migrants movements were involved in the US, who worked in coordination with the Ombudsman of Venezuela’s human rights, Larry Devoe, to act legally in that country.
Rescue the 253 Venezuelans
Meanwhile, President Maduro said that another objective to fulfill is the rescue of Venezuelans who are kidnapped and imprisoned in El Salvador, after being deported from the USA in a process where all their rights were violated.
“I aspire and I hope we can also rescue the father of Maikelys and the 253 Venezuelans who are in El Salvador, very soon,” said Maduro, who described the child’s return as “a miracle” and a “human victory.”
To continue with the rescue work of Venezuelans in El Salvador, Maduro requested solidarity of the population and remained mobilized in claim of the nationals held by the Nayib Bukele regime.
Meanwhile, the president also thanked the work of Camilla Fabri de Saab and her husband Alex Saab, for contributing to the work that resulted in the girl’s return to Venezuela, and for also supporting the families of Venezuelans who are illegally locked in El Salvador.
