Maduro calls for a national drill to prepare for natural disasters

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, called a National Civil Protection Drill for Saturday, September 27, with the aim of preparing the population for any natural catastrophe, after the earthquakes registered in the country in recent days, according to the Presidential Press.

From the El Legado commune, in the state of Miranda, the president explained that citizens will also be prepared for a possible armed conflict. To do this, he gave instructions to the executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez; to the sectoral vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Captain Diosdado Cabello; and to the high command of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB).

The exercise will include schools, high schools, the entire hospital and health system, as well as the country’s security and defense system, including the Popular Power, Civil Protection, firefighters, the Bolivarian National Police Corps (CPNB), and the FANB.

In recent days, significant tremors have been recorded in the country, with magnitudes greater than 6 degrees on the Richter scale, the result of the activation of swarms of seismic faults that cross the South American region, including Venezuela. With RT
