The current mandate of the president of the Madagascar Paralympic Committee is coming to an end and the conditions are ripe to organize a new election. The date has officially been set for Friday January 23, 2025. The vote will be held at the M Hotel in Ampefiloha and will bring together the regional Paralympic leagues eligible to vote. According to the explanations, of the fifteen expected leagues, thirteen already have their certificate of conformity, an essential condition for participation. The remaining two, namely Menabe and Atsinanana, have yet to finalize their electoral process at the regional level, scheduled for this weekend. To date, only one candidacy has been submitted, that of Dimbiniaina Rajaofetrison. However, the sports community awaits with interest the decision of the outgoing president, Mahasolo Tsivoa Morel, whose second term is expected. Several projects remain to be continued, in particular the preparation of athletes for the 2028 Paralympic Games, as well as the compliance of structures with the requirements of the International Federation. The future president will not only have to ensure the continuity of current projects, but also strengthen the development of Paralympic disciplines in Madagascar. The committee reminds that anyone wishing to be a candidate can still submit their file to the General Secretariat, via the official address: [email protected].
