Machado offers a “negotiation” to Nicolás Maduro

In light of this, the political leader also indicated that a democratic, orderly and stable transition in the country is of vital importance and urged that the dialogue should include leaders that the people trust and who represent their interests, including Nicolas Maduro.

However, he said that the negotiation should be a space where a peaceful and consensual solution to the political crisis is sought. Through a press conference at the Supreme Court of Justice, The president also stated that the only possible negotiation with the political leader is that she surrender to the authorities and face the accusations against her. It should be noted that this position reinforces the government’s negativity towards any dialogue with the opposition led by Machado.
