The words of the Brazilian president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, about the extermination in Gaza were directed at the far-right Government of Israel, clarified today the head of the Workers’ Party (PT), Gleisi Hoffmann.
This Sunday, Lula compared the Israeli military offensive on the Gaza Strip to the Holocaust committed by Germany’s dictator, Adolf Hitler, against the Jews during World War II.
“Knows? What is happening in the Gaza Strip with the Palestinian people does not exist in any other historical moment. But it existed when Hitler decided to kill the Jews,” denounced the Brazilian ruler in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he is attending the African Union summit as a guest.

He warned that Israel’s far-right government is leading the country to international isolation and has received the rejection of civilization.
«They should be ashamed of their crimes against humanity. Stop the massacre! Sit at the table to build peace, respecting the right of all peoples to sovereignty and justice,” stressed the PT helmsman.
In the Ethiopian capital, Lula also alluded to the Gaza massacre and that the United Nations Security Council does not have the strength to face this type of conflict.
«We do not have governance. The invasion of Iraq did not pass through the UN Security Council. The invasion of Libya did not pass through the UN Security Council. The invasion of Ukraine did not go through the UN Security Council and the Gaza massacre did not go through the UN Security Council,” recalled the founder of the PT.
He insisted that this UN board can do nothing in the war between Israel and the military wing of the Hamas movement.
“The only thing it can do is ask for peace through the press, but it seems to me that Israel has the privilege of not complying with any decision issued by the leadership of the United Nations,” he remarked.
According to journalistic sources, in 134 days of war in Gaza, there have been 2,512 massacres committed by the Israeli occupation Army.
A total of 35,858 murdered and missing, as well as 28,858 dead who arrived at hospitals.
To date, 12,660 children and 8,570 women have been reported murdered.
Of the seven thousand missing, 70 percent are infants and women.
